A Few Words

About my

In so many cultures mental health is never spoken about. For fear of judgement, of misunderstanding or a show of weakness, too many times people fight their battles alone.

I was 18 when I found out that my grandmother was schizophrenic. All her life she’d battled through this sickness, and because mental health is something that is still so rarely spoken about, also my family often swept it under the rug. It was then that I decided that I wanted to learn more about mental health, different disorders and the effects it has on people. I wanted to understand what she was going through and how I can help other people who are struggling. My grandmother inspired me to specialize in psychology and become a counselor and coach.

Hi, I'm Julia.

I am Kazakhstani born and German raised. 

I hold a masters in Psychology, as well as both, counseling and presence coaching qualifications. My practice is CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) focused with approaches taken from Gestalt as well as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Psychoeducation.

CBT is a short-term, goal-orientated psychotherapy treatment that is based on the idea that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected. CBT encompasses a hands-on approach to problem-solving and pattern changing that will help you deal with overwhelming situations by breaking them down into smaller parts.  ACT maintains that it is possible to create a rich and meaningful life, whilst accepting the inevitable pains and struggles that we all may go through. I will bring to you the mindfulness and acceptance skills of ACT to respond to the feelings and emotions brought on by challenging life experiences. 

Through a compassionate, empathetic and professional approach, we will create a safe space for self-discovery and healing. I don’t believe that any one person is the same and together, using counseling, coaching and guiding, we will develop a method unique to your situation and needs. I will foster a process that encourages self development, discovery and healing. 

Everyone of us has it within us to live a fulfilling, meaningful and happy life and I will be there to help you uncover and understand your highest potential.
